Question Low fps

I recently purchased a dell XP’s 17 for college, and I downloaded steam, and loaded far cry 5 on it. I’m not a pc gamer, but I ran the game through a checkpoint and it was running at 9fps, which I understand is pretty terrible. Even though this isn’t a gaming computer I’ve heard decent things about its ability to run games, so any help would be appreciated
