Low FPS

Hello,
I am having a problem with my PC that has never been an issue before. Two days ago out of nowhere all my games start dropping the fps hard for about a minute at a time, then back to normal for about thirty seconds and so on. I did a virus/malware scan and defraged and set my Nvidia 9800m GTS to stay on performance over quality. I also did a clean install of my graphics card driver update. Also HW monitor shows that temp isn't an issue, since it is in an air conditioned room with a laptop fan and all.
Any ideas?

You might have PSU problems.Try replacing your PSU with another one.You might also be facing heat problems.Try cleaning you PC.

Ah, well since its a gateway, Im not really going to be able to replace the PSU. And I already did clean my laptop.
