Hello. My netbook has slowed a great deal. I checked for malware and viruses and it seemed to be clean.

One thing I noticed was that the Free Physical Memory is usually at 0 MB or very close to 0MB.

Here are the other numbers in Windows Task Manger > Performance > Physical Memory (MB):
Total 2037
Cached 728
Available 716
Free 0

Would any of those number point to why my netbook is running so slow?

Thanks.

when you run out of memory, windows starts swapping programs in and out to disk. this is a slow process, so it slows down everything.

but the more important question is what is using up all your memory? open task manager, goto the details tab, and sort by memory consumption.

Also - from info you posted it seems your netbook only has 2GB of ram. In this day and age, thats exceedingly tiny. Is it supposed to be that low?
Was this slowdown something that happened recently? or has it always been slow since you started using it.

The netbook is much slower than when it was new. I used it mostly for surfing and I could have multiple browser tabs open at one time. Now I can't even get one browser tab to load for several minutes. Something is using so much memory that I can't even get my typing to display for many seconds after I type, if ever. Sometimes it just freezes up on me and I have to restart but that usually doesn't improve anything.

I just noticed that Windows Task Manger > Processes> Image Name > shows 8 of "chrome.exe". I only have one Chrome browser open (with two open tabs). Is something wrong with that?

The Chrome.exe's are the Process Image Names that are using the the most memory.

Yes, 2MB is the max memory for this netbook.
