i have problems with gta 5 , my gpu doesn t go above 50%/60% CPU is hovering between 60/80 , i get HUGEE fps drops , when driving it drops to 30 fps (wat) even if i put everything on low , nothing changes , drops and stuttering
my config is 2600k @4.5
gtx 970
8 gb ram
samsung 850 pro

can t be bottlnecking , i have latest drivers installed , my friends has 770 and he runs 60 EVERYWHERE 🙁(

Your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU. 970 can run the game fine, but it's only performing to about half its potential. Also, what speed is your RAM? That can be affecting performance as well.

no it s not freaking bottlenecking , a 2600k @ 4.5 GHZ is not BOTTLENECK ! ram is 1600 , i said i have put everything on LOW and nothing changes . got the same stutters and the same frame drops , so bottleneck has nothing to do

Just because your CPU is running at 4.5Ghz doesn't mean it's not bottlenecking the performance of your GPU. My CPU only runs at 3.8Ghz & its much more powerful/capable than your card.

A GTX 970 is a powerful card yet yours is only performing to half its potential.. something is holding it back. People have no problems running the game with it.

If you're going to get angry, then, don't expect people to try to help you.

Bull. I have a 2600k at stock and can handle High/Very high with Medium textures on my 770. The 2600k isn't a bottleneck, even at stock. And a 2600k @ 4.5 will beat anything out there running at 3.8, even newer i7's architectures.

Make sure you are using the latest drivers. I'm convinced there's a driver-side problem, because my performance varies. The game defiantly seems to run more "shoddy" after a few hours, so there's probably a memory leak in there as well, that hopefully gets patched.

Okay.

Strange.. I am having the same problem with a 2600 (non k) and a gtx 970. The fps stay between to 25-40, and the gpu usage 25-60%. Other games work perfectly. I have latest drivers installed too..

same problem here, i have an i7-4790k (currently at 4.8Ghz) and a Sapphire R9 290 (Tri-x) And get random stutter. I have 361 other games on steam and all of them run fine. So there is something weird going on. Gonna try the CPU back at stock, then just spend some time with the settings. I bet there is one setting too high causing the problem.

Indeed. I'm running 2500k at 4.8ghz it pushes my 290X to 99% all the time, 60-70fps.

Something is the problem with his system. I heard alot of talk about gtx970 low gpu usage in guru3d, its like card bug not cpu.

All CPU's bottleneck performance from time to time. GTA V, in some areas, is extremely CPU bound, causing the fastest CPU's to not be capable of hitting 60 FPS, even though your GPU can. If you turn off V-sync, you will stop dropping all they way down to 30 FPS, and instead, you should be in the 40's instead. Since you have an Nvidia GPU, you should try using Adaptive V-sync, so you don't have tearing once you reach 60 FPS, which will be most the time.
