[SOLVED] Low Heat Cable Modem?

Which cable modem puts out the least amount of heat? Has anyone seen any ratings on this?

My current cable modem puts out significantly more heat than all my other system components combined. My stand alone router is cool as a cumber by comparison.

Solution
Heat generation is not a good measurement to use.

Manufacturer's could easily get a "low heat" rating by just setting up a fan between the modem and the temperature sensor.

Your current modem (make and model?) could be poorly designed, inefficient, starting to fail, etc..

Use wattages and energy efficiency/power saving information.

You can easily google ( I used: "modem wattage requirements") for more links and additional information.

Just revise the search criteria as you read and learn to help find a modem that meets your requirements.

Let's look at this from another viewpoint: What make and model is your current modem?

Do you own the modem or is it rented via your ISP?

Age, condition, location? Wattage (power) requirements/ratings?

Has the modem always been "hotter" or have you just recently started noticing the heat?

I want to replace the cable modem with a new model that doesn't have the same problem. I need the heat generation data on cable modems being sold to make an informed purchase.
