So I have this ram and havent noticed any problems with it : G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7D-16GTX

Latency is very low, 7-8-8-24, but runs at 800mhz. Its been 2 years or so since I bought the ram, and now browsing on newegg shows that there are sticks running at almost 3x the speed, but with much higher latencies. Should I upgrade at some point, or will my rig, holistically, be just fine with these sticks for a while? Also, am I losing out on speed because of the latency? thats something i just dont get.

im running a 4770 (not K). In my bios, ive selected xmp profile for the ram. I've never really had a problem with the ram, but I wonder what I'm missing out on if anything. I remember being convinced that the low latency made up for any speed issues. But, half out of wanting to improve performance and half out of being intellectually curious, is this "slow" ram?

Also, how would I go about safely OCing it just a little in the UEFI bios?

i know about the bios, but there are weird interactions between turbo, xmp, and the clocks. also in z87 bios, i didnt see an option to change voltage, just frequency and timing. when i tried, cpuz showed 600 mhz. i just reset back to xmp.
