Low memory problem fix?

I have a problem that kinda annoys me..when I play games...it happened most in Smite...that Im forced to desktop so that interupts my game...any fix for it?....I noticed it happening after I updated windows 8 to 8.1.....

stop all running processes and applictaions that are not needed when gaming , reduce game settings resolution etc or get more memory (ram )

It might help if you told us what you've got.

You need more than 2gb for sure. Even 4gb can struggle these days - with the amount of stuff running ion the background plus keeping so many screens open - multitasking. That's why most go for 8gb - for gaming anyway. For video processing - the more the merrier.

I have 4gb.....and sometimes my desktop becomes blue and the icons and stuff dissapears...

I have the blue thing right now....then when Im browsing in the metro(?) stuff and Im finding Smite...I went back to the desktop and (LOLS) I accidentaly clicked the stuff in the right corner of the taskbar and the blue stuff disappear!!.....then I tried clicking the stuff...then the blue stuff went back....I think something is causing the blue stuff but I dont know what...hahaha.....and in the blue stuff,Rainmeter is still there..hahha

check your running processes , is there anything there that shouldn't be , you may have a nasty

Yeah Micky's right - Have you done an anti virus scan?

I think it isnt because of a virus(but Ill still do a scan) 'cause it sometimes happened when the error shows up...and about the blue stuff i forgot to say that the only ting happens is that the background becomes blue and the icons disappears...the taskbar is still there.....and the Error doesnt show up before I updated my windows

system mechanic or avg pc tuneup may help
