Low memory when only using 49%

So i was playing Fifa and then a notification appeared saying that my memory is low and the game crashes. I have 8GB of RAM and the game is only using 1,2 GB and i dont have anything running in the background except spotify. So i start the game again while monitoring my RAM the "low memory" notification popped up again when it says 49% memory is used in the task manager. What is the solution? Do i need to replace my RAM?

What GPU do you have? I would guess it's running out of VRAM and not system RAM. If correct the only option is lowering the game settings or getting a new GPU

Well while I think I understand where you're going with this Windows doesn't report when you're low or out of video memory. Unless you're making the assumption that the due to the video card running out of memory it then starts to consume the system memory?

OP: As asked by sizzling which video card do you have and how much memory does it hold? It could very well be that you're running over the video cards memory limit forcing things to dump over into system ram.

im using the r9 270 with 2 GB of VRAM. The settings are as low as they can be.

Which version of Windows are you using for example Windows 7 64bit? Which version of the game are you running Fifa 15 or 16? How much memory does your system use while it's at idle prior to running the game? Finally have you tried opening task manager after receiving the low memory alert and sorting by memory to see what appears at the top of the list?

Windows 10 64 bit. I was playing Fifa 15 and while idle its using around 30% . Fifa 15 appears on top using 1,2GB and theres no other applications that is heavily using RAM.

Ok so based off of what you provided 8GB - 30% should leave you with about 5.6GB then once you add fifa 15's 1.2GB leaves you with about 4.4GB of Ram. How much video memory is the game using?

You can use MSI Afterburner and i believe GPU-Z can provide the same information also.

Around 500mb VRAM usage, i was monitoring the ram also and it says 3.2gb available (some programs are running in the background) but then the notification pops up and seconds later my pc crashed.
