Good Evening. Lately for some reason the microphone sounds very low, almost not at all I would say. I have tried everything I could imagine, such as uninstalling / installing drivers, changing the microphone, bios settings, windows and realtek, but to no avail. On the contrary, when I try the web camera microphone, it works fine. Do you have a solution I have not thought of trying?
Also in case the onboard sound card is finally to blame and I need to put another one, do you suggest a usb or a pci? I think e.g. one of these two

Because apart from the microphone the onboard card works perfectly, in case I get a usb I can only use it for the microphone and for audio playback I use the onboard at the same time or to have the usb I have to deactivate the onboard from the bios?
The motherboard is an Asus Z-170A.
