Low Performence for P4???!!!

I got a P4 2.26Ghz, and one day, the CPU has been overheated because the fan is broken down. I don't know what the temp was but I'm sure it was very very hot . when the cpu over heated, I OC it to 2.53GHz.
Later, I replaced a new FAN and the CPU work PERFECTLY at 2.26, but very very UNSTATBLE at any speed faster 2.26, when I tryed to run it at a faster speed, the system(WIN XP PROFESSIONAL) will restart after about 10 MINS,and the CPU TEMP is not hot as I feel it by hand.
anybody know what's wrong with this CPU????

ya fried it and you're actually lucky you can still run it at 2.26GHz

Woohoo! Broke the 30-celcius barrier with through the loud and innefficient world of air-cooling! Also, never - NEVER - play with gum in one hand and hair in the other... just trust me.
