Low ping but severe lag in multiplayer games

Hi guys this is my first time I am posting on this site so bear with me.

I recently got a new gaming laptop which is awesome and all but when it comes to multiplayer games (Tf2,cs:go,dota 2 etc.) there is severe lag. I am going to use tf2 for an example. I get around 100 to 150 fps and 10 to 20 ping, however, I still lag in multiplayer games (mainly teleporting backwards if I am moving forward and stuff). If I use a ethernet cable, it fixes the problem, but my laptop does not have a ethernet in so I cant use the ethernet cable for my laptop. However, recently I found out that if I use an external usb network adapter from prolink, it fixes the problem! Please reply if you have any further questions and I would try to answer as fast as I can.

Thanks in advance!

Wireless is often not good for gaming, and if you must use wireless I would place an access point near the area where you game to improve your signal. Ethernet is the best choice and a good pair of the newer AV2 MIMO powerline adapters would be my second choice.

You also may have local interference from other nearby networks. You can check that with a free wireless network analyser inSSIDer from HERE. Install it on the wireless laptop and run it then look in the networks window for other networks using the same channel or a nearby channel.

Hello RealBeast, I do have a wireless adapter from prolink (WN2001), and I do use that for gaming on wireless. However, everytime I connect to the wifi, it crashes the router/cause the signal to be disrupted. This only happens on my laptop. I hope that you are able to get back to me soon.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with that adapter, but it must have some kind of driver issue or perhaps a conflict with the existing wireless adapter in the laptop. Did you disable the primary wireless adapter on the laptop?

Also, what results do you get with the wireless analyzer that I linked?
