I've recently got a Crucial MX100 SSD and the read speeds on the Asmedia 106X SATA Controller are horrendously low, around the 4MB/s - 7MB/s. I'm wondering if this is an issue with the controller or the SSD itself. Running the ATTO benchmark causes the computer to restart itself after a random amount of time, without a blue screen or any kind of error.
My motherboard is an Asus M4A79XTD EVO which only has SATA 2 ports on the motherboard, hense the reason I am using an external controller to maximize the speed a bit more. I have tried the SATA 2 ports as well and it was causing freezing every so often. Taking into account this is a clean install of windows so I haven't a clue what the problem is. I have disabled disk defrag and indexing on the drive, as well as legacy USB support in the BIOS as that was also causing problems.
I would like to know how to stop the computer restarting itself while running the ATTO benchmark and make the read speeds higher if that is possible.
