Low resolution with dual monitors on Radeon HD 6850

I have a Win7 x64 system with a Radeon HD 6850. I recently got a second monitor. The new monitor, connected to the first DVI port, is working fine (mostly; the display is scaled down a bit for some reason) at 1920x1080. The other monitor, connected to the second DVI port, has a native resolution of 1680x1050 but is stuck at 640x480. This is the "maximum reported resolution" according to AMD Catalyst Control Center and I'm not able to change it.

I have wiped all AMD software and then re-installed the latest. I'm on driver version 13.251.0.0 and Catalyst Control Center version 2013.1206.1603.28764. The first monitor is an HP x2401, and the second is a ViewSonic VS10859.

Any suggestions to get that second monitor to the right resolution?

Short version: The monitor's EDID was corrupted. The solution was to overwrite that EDID with its original data. I do NOT recommend attempting this without researching the subject thoroughly, as it's possible to irrevocably ruin your monitor(s) by accident.
