Low Space on C Drive

Lately my C drive has been full and I keep getting error messages of the disk being full, and have seen my pc drop in efficiency. I have 69.9 gb (70g) with 2 other partitions (45, and 180gb) for my media.

I have ran disk clean up and cleaned the system files (from the properties menu of c drive), and it doesn't really give me more than a few mb of more space after deleting and clearing it up.

Can windows 8.1 really take up that much room? I feel like I had way more space a few months back.

Someone please help?

Hi there Clark_Kent,

You can adjust your System Restore settings as well. Just reduce the space allocated for that and delete previous restore points: www.howtogeek.com/howto/5482/make-system-restore-use-less-space-in-windows-7/
Here are some more things you can do in order to free up some space: http://www.howtogeek.com/125923/7-ways-to-free-up-hard-disk-space-on-windows/

As you've mentioned that you experience some decreased performance, it may be a good idea to test your drive: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
