In my home, I'm using the TP Link AV500 Nano Powerline Adapter Kit (TL-PA4010KIT). At the same time, I'm also connected to the same router by WiFi. According to the Windows Network and Sharing Center, I'm getting only 100 Mbps via Powerline. By comparison, I'm getting 130 Mbps via WiFi. Why would this be? I was expecting to see much higher data speeds from the Powerline than by WiFi.
All advice greatly appreciated!

I really appreciate your reply, but still feel confused:
(1) On the manufacturer's website it says: "high-speed data transfer rates of up to 500 Mbps"
(2) Why would I be getting better speed from WiFi than from Powerline, if all is functioning well??

Look at the specs. Wireless speed is max 500mbs, but wired is 100mbs. That is the fastest the ethernet port can do, you can't get faster.

You are getting better wifi speeds because of the above specs.

Be extremely happy that you are getting 100m. Most people get nowhere close to that.

The manufactures numbers are as close to lies as they can get away with. They always have a little * that explains the fine print. They forget little things like that is 500m but it must be divided between upload and download. If switch manufactures told fibs like that they would call the ports 2gig because they can do 1g up and 1g down.

This is all done to confuse the lazy person who just looks for the biggest number and doesn't bother to understand the technology. It really isn't any different than any other product...most people have learned to not believe "new and improved" but it takes much more effort when it comes to computer stuff to see though the deception.
