Low system ram rendering at 1440p 60fps

using vegas 11 and i can render up to 4k 30fps but only up to 1080p at 60fps, i have 8GB ram. vegas wont even try rendering at 1440p 60fps and i get an instant message saying low memory. software related issue? if not how much extra ram do i need?

Dont want to pick up some more ram to find out i still have the same problem :/

Very odd. Do you have another computer you can put 8GB more in just to test it?
