I installed my 2080 super tonight and updated my driver (391.xx) to the latest (441.2) and in every game I have started I get about 30-40 more fps than with the 1080sc2, except AC:Odyssey.

For some reason when everything first loads (actual game-play not loading screen) the fps counter is at 95-100 then widdles down to 56-60 after a few seconds and just stays there. The way it would if V-sync were enabled (its not).

I am playing on a 1440p 144hz g-sync monitor.
Strange it would only be this game but after looking through all the settings I couldn't find a culprit.

Don’t know about worse. Even a 2080ti benchmarks at 70fps in ultra paired with a 8700k. A 1080 benchmarks at 49. Have you ran the benchmark or just looked at what FPS you see? Only issue I could think would be driver optimization. Maybe the latest driver isn’t as optimized for AC origins. Have you tried previous drivers?

I was just playing it, but after restarting steam I now stay right between 65-80fps. I did the benchmark and I got 65fps, with all maxed settings except shadows on very high. I have found the in game fps is usually 5-10 higher than the benchmark.
Still though I played 200 hours on this game with the 1080 and 65-75 was about what I always saw...
But I think it may be the driver, when I read your mention of that I remembered why I kept the old driver I had; because in this game I got significantly worse performance after upgrading, so I rolled it back.
