Hi,

I'm essentially looking for a monitor to serve as a tv. I've got a 22" Westinghouse monitor serving as both a monitor and my tv at the moment, but it lacks an hdmi port (so overscan is a problem via component).

I'm looking to spend a max of 500 dollars, but I'm not picky about things like color fidelity (within reason). I'm not sure whether I need a 1:1 mode or not. I intend to hook the monitor up to my PS3, 360, and HDTV box (I'll probably buy a switch). I looking to get something at least 24 inches. In fact, I was considering a 28 inch Hanns-G; I've seen it maligned on this board but thought it would serve my interests until I found some people talking about it stretching 1920x1080 to 1920x1200. I don't know whether they were connected by HDMI or component, though.

So to recap- Do I need to worry about stretching when connecting from a console or cable box via HDMI? Is so, what monitors within my price range can be recommended for my purposes?

Advance thanks for any responses!

Update...I'd still appreciate suggestions, but mostly if they are for monitors larger than 24". If no such monitors exist, I'm probably going to go with an Acer 24" recently release with a native resolution of 1920x1080. Seems like a good way to avoid pixel reshaping.
