Lower RAM speed

I got a G skill ripjaws v series ddr4 8gb RAM stick clocked at 2400 mhz but in task manager it's showing only 2133 mhz ...or am i wrong about the speed do correct me

did you check the BIOS? My 1666 DDR3 will only show up as 1333 until I go and tell the BIOS to use the right settings.

are you adding this stick to an existing stick? does the existing run at 2133? pairs of RAM will only run as fast as the slowest stick.

I just upgraded to ryzen 5 1600 with gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 mobo from i3 6100 with msi h110 gaming mobo ...i have freshly installed Windows again

I just got 1 8gb stick

what version of the BIOS is running? version F8 offers improved DDR4 compatibility.

I haven't updated the bios yet when the update came out do you know or i might have to check my bios version

its an older update 8/2017 but the board may be running the firsdt version BIOS.

you need to go into the BIOS/UEFI and check. the trigger keys for the BIOS and how to navigate it are in the Manual that came with the motherboard.
