Hello! Is it normal for games to use lowres in distance? When playing rdr2 i notice good res when close to objects etc but trees/mountains further away look more blurred and muddy. Just want to know if this is normal. 1440p/4k. 4k looks obviously better overall playing on my 1440p monitor.

Screenshot?, and yes games tend to render distant objects at lower resolution to reduce load, however rdr2 has excellent graphics and if object from a medium distance look blurry or don't load in time, it may be due a slow hard drive.

I'm using the 870 evo hard drive. I don't know how fast it is but does the job i guess. Had it since 2020 now so might need an upgrade.

That makes sense! But behind the fog itself the mountains look like cardboard or something. However it might just be me. The game itself looks awesome :)

Looks pretty realistic to me. They are doing a decent job of simulating air density that pulls the color out of distance objects and the human eye can't really resolve dimension at that distance.

It may actually be a 2D representation at that distance if they were clever about it.
