Hi, I am planing to build my first gaming computer, but I am curious to see if there is a way that I can lower the cost, but still maintain good performance.

Case: Zalman Z11 Plus HF1 Mid Tower Case-

CPU: Intel Core™ i5-4670K Processor, 3.40GHz w/ 6MB Cache-

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VI HERO, Dual DDR3 1600, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, CrossFireX / SLI, HDMI-

Memory: G.SKILL RipjawsX Series 8GB PC3-12800 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 4GB)-

Hard Drive: Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA III w/ 64MB Cache

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO Series Solid State Drive, SATA III, 2.5", 120GB

Optical Drive: LiteOn iHAS124 24X DVD-Writer, SATA, Black, OEM

Video Card: eVGA GeForce GTX 770 Dual FTW 4GB PCI-E w/ ACX Cooling, Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort

PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 620W Modular Power Supply

Also do I need a Network card to connect to wireless internet, or would a USB network adapter be enough?

Thanks!

Solution
1. 4gb vram does not seem to be helpful buy a 2gb card.

2. I like the other parts.
3. Perhaps you can defer on the hard drive. 120gb ssd will hold the os and a fair number of games. Add the hard drive when you need room.
4. If you love the case, buy it. But, most cases will do the job. Here is one that is a bit cheaper:

5. The maximus is an expensive motherboard. Any Z87 based motherboard will perform just as well and cost $100 less.
6. If you hope to oc, I would add in a cooler initially.
something like a $30 cm hyper212
7. USB wifi dongles may not have good range because...
I would get this motherboard http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz87xud3h or http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z87extreme6. For your wireless question, you could use the usb adapter or the network card doesn't matter. With the money that you save from buying a cheaper motherboard, I would highly recommend getting a better power supply like this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120pg0650gr It is a little bit more expensive but has more watts and is 80+ gold. Otherwise, you have a nice build and you should enjoy. If you have any more questions please let me know.

To cut 15-20 bucks out of it, ditch the cd drive, and install windows via USB. The motherboard has not impact on performance, so get a cheaper one. You can find great lga 1150 mobos for $115 easily. Maybe getting the 2 gb version of the 770 would lower the cost, since 4 gb is unnecessary for 1080p gaming. And ssds, while awesome, are not necessary, they just improve loading time. So to save $100, ditch the ssd. (Although you wouln't regret buying it.)

7. USB wifi dongles may not have good range because of minimal antennas. I would get a pcie based wifi card.
