Question Lowering resolution doesn't increase fps

Hi guys.

When changing the resolutions in games like CP2077 and Spiderman Remastered via Steam, my frames doesn't increase or decrease, it stays the same regardless of the resolution i choose. Also, enabling and disabling DLSS doesn't impact the frames either. Naturally lowering resoltion should lead to higher fps right!? But this is not the case with my system. I should note that changing the graphic settings like game quality and ray tracing etc. does affect the fps like you would expect so the issue seems to be only on changing resolution.

My system: RTX 4090, i5-10600K, 16 RAM, Windows 10 using the latest nvidia drivers.

Do you have vsync enabled or maybe a framerate cap?

nope, no caps or vsync
