What’s the lowest wattage card that will game on triple monitors?

What resolution are the monitors? What do you consider "low wattage"? Such a card probably doesn't exist, if you want a card powerful enough to game on 3 monitors, it's not going to be low wattage.

3 monitors each at 1080. Not asking for some pipe dream merely asking what is the lowest wattage card that will play games at at least medium detail over 3 monitors.

1080 or 1080ti. You are asking it to game in what amounts to 3/4 of a 4k resolution. Right now it isnt cheap or cost efficient to buy high end GPUs. Make no mistake you need a high end GPU to do what you want to do.

60 FPS, medium settings? Hmm, maybe something like a 1070 would cut it. Consider that three 1080p monitors is 3/4 the resolution of 4K, so it will still take some GPU grunt.

So looking minimum of 1070 for this gen an then what a r9 390 or gtx 980 if last gen?

Any card that features 4k resolution. (Since you are 3/4 of the way there with 3 1920 screens.) And remember - the card does not provide power to the screens but rather a digital signal at very low power.

Yes I understand that but if I can use a card that doesn’t draw 200 or more watts of power I’d prefer that

A 1070 is a fair bit more powerful than a 390 or a 980. Closest last gen equivalents would be 980 Ti or Fury X (still both weaker than a 1070), and neither of those are low power cards in any way.

There's the 1070(150w) and 1070ti(180w). But that's the draw for the reference cards, so expect the 3rd party ones to draw more. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1070-ti/ (scroll down and click full specs - power is at the bottom)
A 500w psu is recommended to run it.

As for the 1060(120w) and 1050(75w), they are primarily 1080p cards and I highly doubt they can handle gaming on that pseudo-4k setup you have... but if you just game on one monitor, then either will work.
