Hi all.

I am confused whether or not it is actually worth me buying an M.2 now instead of a new SSD.
I am thinking of buying this M.2;
WD Blue SSD 500 Go M.2
and my motherboard is this;
Z170-A
Will the speeds be anywhere near the 32go advertised by ASUS for the motherboard, or if not will it be faster than a normal WD Blue 500Go SSD?

Also if I wanted the 32go transfer, what would I need to buy for that?

Thank you so much for your help, its much appreciated!

Thank you for teh response, thats what I thought.
Why do they say up to 32Gb/s transfer speeds? How would I obtain speeds like that?

"With x4 PCI Express 3.0/2.0 bandwidth, M.2 supports up to 32Gbit/s data-transfer speeds. It is the perfect choice for an operating system or application drive, making your whole PC or professional apps work as fast as possible."
Asus Z170-A webpage

Thank you again Blackbird

Thank you Blackbird. Ill way up the options then.
Just one more thing if you can help! Does it really make a difference with an OS and software like photoshop, 3DS etc.
And will buying the faster M.2 help future proof my PC a little?

(I feel a bit silly - PCI-Express 3.0 x4 !)

Thanks again :)
