I am trying to use an M.2 card as an external USB drive. It is in a Kingshare SSD enclosure, C3 SATA to USB.
The M.2 card is a 2280 format. I was (several years ago) using this on a Maximus VIII Ranger MoBo as the Win10 system drive. It is a 128G card, and it was replaced with with a 500G M.2 card.

In the Device Manager, it is showing up in the Disk Drives category as a "KINGSHAR KS-ANTU28 USB device".
When I run Diskpart "list disk" it shows up as "Disk 5 No Media".

I have found this Warning in the Event Viewer:

Device USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_KINGSHAR&Prod_KS-ANTU28&Rev_0\123456789010&0 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

Any ideas about what might be wrong here?

Is the m.2 card an NVMe drive? The fine print for the enclosure notes that it only support SATA m.2 cards.

It is an M.2 2280 form memory card - 128 Gigs. As said, it had been used as the Windows system "disk"and was replaced with a 500G card.
Further info from a search on mem card - looks like it won't work with this enclosure! :-(

Yep - sad to say you are right! So- I have just ordered :

SabrentSabrent USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs (EC-SNVE)

This looks like it SHOULD work - and a very nice-looking product as well.
