Just built a pc for my gf. For extra storage (not for boot), we used an old m.2 from her laptop that stopped working, and her pc won't boot with it installed. Tried it in my pc, same issue, won't boot with it installed. Again, to clarify, we are not trying to boot from this m.2. This m.2 has never had windows on it, but when it is installed in either of our pcs, our pcs won't boot. Otherwise, both our pcs work fine. Now I suspect it may be the cause of her laptop not booting as well.
Also there is a small red led lit up on the m.2.
We are both able to get into bios with the m.2 installed.
On her pc, when this m.2 is installed, different things happen: one time, we got a blue screen. usually we get a spinning circle of dots and "performing automatic repair". Other times just a spinning circle of dots and nothing else. Never get into windows.
On my pc, when this m.2 is installed, I get the blue windows logo, sometimes with spinning circle of dots, sometimes not. Never get into windows.
