M.2 Compatibility for z87's series

Solution
seems like that hhhl adaptor is used for board with out m2 built on the board . you use the pci-e slot and add the ssd to it

like from Kingston but theres comes with the m2 ssd

https://www.kingston.com/us/ssd/system-builder/shpm2280p2

I do like that is sold with out a ssd in it and you add the one you want

only thing I don't like is that its tall rather then long if you got a narrow case ??

anyway as long as you got a supporting pci-e slot you should be good to go

sorry to keep posting the edit aint working well

I giot a z87 extreme 6 and if you use that card for the m2 your graphics card will not run at its full x16 it will be reduced to x8 and you loose sli capability as well these boards are ''wired as x16 for one card used [gpu] then any card used in any pci-e slot its the 8x4x4

''The three PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots are controlled by the CPU, with the first slot working at x16 when only one video card is installed, the first two working at x8 when two video cards are installed, and with the first working at x8 and the other two working at x4 when three video cards are installed.

not a big deal unless you planning to a sli set up , but it still will support AMD x-fire on x4

should like I said it will share bandwidth with the cpu and your gpu will run at x8 instead of x16 with that add in card in use .

that's not a big deal unless your running a NVidia SLI set up that requires 2 8x8 slots with that card added the 2 pci-e slots drop to 8x4x4

8x is fine and dandy for single card NVidia use and x4 is fine for the ssd but with them 2 cards in place you cant add a 2ed NVidia graphics card cause the slot for it is now at x4

should work as the Kingston does like here with this z87

seem just add a m2 ssd to it, install it to the motherboard, set it up, install OS, and boot to it

hold on I need to look at the full interface reading what this guy said here

'' I got this thinking M2 SATA would work (Samsung 850 Evo) but this adapter is for m2 PCIE SSD's only (Samsung 950 Pro).''

may want to check on that with your adaptor used with that Samsung 960 evo

may run in to the same issue ?? ok its a 2280 its fine
