Hi everyone I have just purchased a 2nd hand desktop pc that came with a SSD and a 2TB HD which is currently being used for storage. My motherboard is a Asrock H61M-VS yes maybe old but running a 3770 cpu which isn't all that bad. Anyway I was left with some money on a gift card to spend so I brought a 250gb 860 EvO Sata M.2 What I would really like to know is how I can take the 2TB out and replace. Is it possible/will it make a difference and how do I do it please. TIA

Solution
Yeah, don't change your motherboard just to run the m.2 SATA SSD. There really is no point. The only benefit form SATA M.2 SSD is that they don't have any wires, so they make the build a lot cleaner.
No, that board does not have a M.2 slot. You will need to get a 2.5" SATA SSD for it to work with that rig.

But if you get a 2.5: SATA SSD and load your OS onto it, your system will be much more responsive. Even a budget SSD will speed up boot and load times will be 5X faster that what you are getting from your HDD.

Sorry I forgot to say I already have a SSD as my boot drive. The other thing I have got coming is a pci express usb 3.0 component to fit and a bluetooth 4.0 dongle and a usb wifi dongle. Instead of all this lot should I just not think about getting a new mobo that already has this on board using the same chipset. I don't know I am open to expert suggestions
