Question M.2 DISABLED SATA PORTS??

Hi, Im planning to buy m.2

My motherboard MPG Z390 GAMING PLUS..

Some on internet says, When m.2 installed some SATA ports disabled so look for a motherboard manual

So i referred my motherboard manual, i got this

I cant understand from this table, so please explain,
when i install M.2 on my motherboard which sata ports disabled????

normally if you are using the M.2 slot on your motherbord it will disable 1 or 2 SATA ports on the motherbord so if you are going to be using a HDD with an M.2 SSD then connect your HDD to SATA port 3 or above

Hi.

Basically is this:

The SATA2 will be unavailable when installing M.2 SATA device into M2_1 slot.​

The SATA5 & SATA6 will be unavailable when installing M.2 PCIe/ SATA device into M2_2 slot.​

So my motherboard have 2 m.2 slots
so When i use one m.2 ssd, one sata port disable or 2 sata ports disable??

Correct, your motherboard has two (2) m.2 slots.

If you install one m.2 SSD in the M2_1 only the SATA 2 port will be disabled.

I'm new here, but when I look at that table I see:

1. If you use ANY type of M.2 drive (PCIe or SATA), you can't use SATA ports 5 or 6.
2. If you use an M.2 SATA drive, you ALSO can't use SATA port 2.

Summary:
If you use an M.2 SATA-type drive you'll lose 3 other SATA ports (2,5,6).
If you use an M.2 PCIe-type drive you'll lose 2 other SATA ports (5,6).
