I am looking at possible upgrade for the future, and of course technology has left me behind. Most modern motherboards now support M.2 drives. I only recently joined the new age with an SSD connected to a SATA port in my gaming rig built a few years back.
Is there a decent tutorial to help me understand different types and how to match them to a motherboard? A few sites I looked at seem to focus on laptops.
I picked a random board as an example : ASUS Prime X470-Pro. It lists several numbers for the M.2 socket but also has SATA express?
Thanks

> NVME drives are way faster than SATA drives.
> Most modern boards usually have two M2 slots.
> M2_1 is usually direct to CPU and M2_2 is usually direct to chipset.
