Hi, I have a 3070 vertically mounted using 3.0 riser, but probably going to trying to find a reliable 4.0 riser. MB is Asus prime x570 pro which is all pcie gen 4. Using inland premium 1TB for boot and some storage but I started gaming more and I'm out of space. I want to get a 2nd m.2 nvme since my mb has 2nd 4.o slot with heatsink. Going 2 TB. So looking at them I'm seeing the newer gen 4 pcie cards, quite bit more expensive, around $100. I watched reviews and the difference is negligible. However since I'm doing it is it worth it to go with the gen 4 since things may be heading that way in the future. Lower end gen 4 aren't much more, but performance isn't that much greater. Higher end using phison e 18 are fast. but cost almost $400 for 2 TB. Samsung 970 evo plus gives pretty good results but still come in at $230 for 2TB. Should I just go gen 3 and wait for needed gen4 with updrades and price drops, or bite the bullet and buy now. Thanks.
