Quick question regarding M.2 installation on the Gigabyte X570 Auros Elite.

The top M.2 slot is populated with a Samsung 970 Evo Plus (1TB), under the metal heat-sink using the included M.2 standoff and screw supplied in the motherboard box. It is installed to the 80mm screw hole. This SSD has windows installed and is working fine.

I want to also install another Samsung 970 Evo SSD to the bottom M.2 slot, which is also 80mm in length however, there is no second standoff included in the motherboard box. There is however a pre-installed standoff in in the 110mm position, but this will not support my M.2 SSD.

Am I missing something? I tried to unscrew the preinstalled standoff but it seems to be fixed in. Is there anywhere I can get a spare standoff? I have tried various ASUS standoffs and motherboard standoffs but none will fit the Gigabyte screw holes.

Help is greatly appreciated.

You have to use more force or appropriate tools to remove preinstalled standoff.
