Hello,

PC Spec:
B450F ROG Strix
Ryzen 7 5700x
RTX 3080
G.Skillz 4x8gb
Corsair CX650B

I've been having a lot of issues with my PC, The most recent problem:

WD SN570 Boot drive in M.2_1 brand new with clean install and up to date drivers (which replaced my last drive that was failing).
Samsung 980 PRO in M.2_2 which was working fine for the first 24 hours is now only recognized intermittently after restarting my PC. I will be able to transfer files in and out of it for 1 minute, after which it will drop from the Disk management and any changes to the drive is met with an Error.

As far as I know the WD is SATA and M.2_1 supports SATA and PCIE. 980 PRO is PCIE which M.2_1 only supports PCIE.

No other drives plugged into the SATA 5/6 ports.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

B450F ROG Strix
BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time?

Corsair CX650B
Got a link to this unit? I would've had a higher wattage unit in order to power a system with an RTX3080 in it.

Does it have heatsink on it? Gen4 drives run rather hot and require a heatsink.
If heatsink doesn't fix it, then replace. Faulty drive.

It doesn't. But I am not actively writing/downloading from the drive. It just has files I want separate from my boot drive.

This is a drive ive had for a few months and was working fine until now.

Can you show screenshot from Samsung Magician - Drive dashboard for 980 pro?
(upload to imgur.com and post link)

Anyway - install M.2 heatsink.

Temperature seems fine.

Try swapping M.2 drives between M.2 slots.
See, if you get the same problem with 980 pro in the other slot.

Make sure fast boot is disabled in BIOS before you try this.
Thank for helping me.

The problem seems to be fixed so far after I "restarted CMOS" by removing and replacing the battery in my motherboard.

Just installed a heatsink too.
