I just wrapped up a build, using
ASRock AB350M Pro4 (manual)
Crucial MX300 525GB
(Have a hard drive on SATA3_1, DVD on SATA3_2, video card on PCIE_2)

I thought the first items were compatible, due to this page, but I'm not seeing the M.2 drive in BIOS, nor in the Windows10 installation screens. Any hints you know? Hoping I don't have to do a return.

Solution

Which m.2 port do you have the drive in?

For that board, that particular drive must go in the m.2_2 port. SATA protocol, not PCIe.
pg 34 in your user manual.

For a SATA based m.2 drive, you must use the m.2_2 port.
