M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB would be a total waste for storage or installing games/programs on it and that's even on most modern systems that can take advantage of it's speed. Any SATA SSDs would get same performance in your case.

No native support for M2 drives at all.

Yes, You could add in an M.2 pcie adapter into the pcie2x16 (x4 mode) slot and be able to use one as storage only but since it's pcie2 it will not work at full speed which requires pcie3.

Also, if you are using Win7 then you will need to install an NVME driver.
