Hello,

This is my laptops ideapad l340-15irh pdf

Because my current main hard disk is only 128GB (HFM128GDHTNG-8310A) i would like to make an upgrade.

I am little confused about m.2, nvme disks and i am not sure what my laptop supports exactly. I know Nvme are much faster than m.2. I really need your advice.

I would like to upgrade to 1TB of disk and these are my current options:

  1. Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB SATA M.2 (2280)
  2. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 (2280)

Can my laptop support nvme speeds?

I appreciate any advice thank you!

Your laptop definitely supports NVMe drives as noted HERE but I cannot find anything that absolutely confirms it will boot from an NVMe drive. Under commodity type select solid state drives to narrow the search down to just drives.
