M.2 NVMe SSD cooling suggestions?

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions with mounting a 40mm fan to cool an m.2 SSD. I have a few of the fans lying around and am trying to wrap my head around figuring out how I would be able to make use of them to cool off the drive. I already have a heatsink attached to the m.2 drive, but I've seen people talking about how they get significantly lower temperatures when putting a 40mm fan at the drive on top of the heatsink. I have more than enough room in my case to fit a mount, but I'm wondering if there are any mounts that would work for my motherboard layout. I know that ASUS has an m.2 fan holder, but would this work with my non-ASUS motherboard? Are there other options for mounting a fan directly on the m.2 drive using adhesive or some other way of mounting the fan?

The motherboard I am using is the MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130973

The heatsink I'm using is EKWB EK-M.2 NVMe Heatsink:

Solution
Why do you believe you need it? Is your M.2 thermal throttling? If you have no performance issues then I wouldn't worry about it. So what if they have lower temps on the M.2. It won't perform any better.
