So i have a Lenovo Y520 and a Y720. The Y520 is my old one and im switching to the Y720, but i dont want to waste the m.2 nvme ssd in the Y520. But i only have 1 m.2 slot in my new laptop. Is there an enclosure for M.2 nvme drives? I watch Hardwarecanucks' video about building your own USB stick using an m.2, but he said that it could only use m.2 sata.

You can get an m.2 to usb 3 external case.

However it will only accept m.2 Sata.

I am not aware of any solution that will take a PCie card as it requires a full PCIe chipset (expensive in terms of $$ and power).

If i use an m.2 to usb 3 enclosure, will my nvme ssd still work? But just at slower speeds?
