Question M.2 NVME SSD on M.2 Sata slot

so i have plan for adding my storage with another NVME SSD, but when i check my mobo specification my mobo only habe 1 m.2 nvme slot, and 1 more is M.2 SATA slot (with M key), i wonder can i placed a M.2 NVME to a M.2 SATA. My Mobo is Arock ab350 Pro 4

You can get an M.2 SATA drive.

Nvme drives only connect to pcie bus. Even though it'll fit, it won't communicate with sata controller. As above, m2 ssd needs to be sata.

What is the make/model of your motherboard?

Nothing wrong with a sata ssd. either in m.2 format or 2.5" format.
Most activity will be small random i/o. In that respect sata vs. pcie performance is similar.
The glowing pcie benchmarks are from sequential operations at 32 queue depth.
We do things closer to one at a time.
