Question m.2 on expansion card not working in Asus z390-P

Hi All

until yesterday i had asus z97 pro gamer. unfortunately the mobo said i cant do anymore so i had to move to new platform. (details are in the signature). in z97 i had a m.2 drive mounted to pci-e 3.0 slot (so yes the vga card runs in x8 speed) and it worked fine. but this new mobo dose not detect it. the drive works fine in m.2 slot but its speed is limited to x2 as i m using the other port to os drive at x4 speed. how can i get the expansion card setup working again?

so your problem is something that you would not really see any differce in? the majority can't even see any difference in performance between an NVMe and SATA type SSD drives

no my problem is why this z390-p dose not go with the PnP design? the expansion card dose not require any driver so it should detect and show my m.2 drive but it dose not. but the same drive works fine as its currently fixed to the mobo via m.2 second port. if it worked on z97 it should work on the new chipset as well IMO
