Hi all, i could use some advice,

I just bought this laptop from Newegg. It has an M.2 SSD (which i think is the WD Blue). I want to eventually put a 960 PRO in it, but i'm not sure what i'm doing when it comes to laptops.

According to the links here and here, the motherboard has 3 M.2 slots on it. I'm not really familiar with the difference between the PCIe NVME and M.2 connectors, so i'm not sure what i'm doing. The first link above says "There are also two M.2 slots for support of 42mm, 60mm, or 80mm length drives with SATA III, or a single 4x PCIe NVMe drive" but i don't really understand. Does it mean you could have the WD Blue OR the Samsung 960 PRO, but not both?

Would someone mind explaining to me what can go in each of those slots? Does the same port work for the WD Blue and the 960 PRO?

EDIT: A closer look from here shows me that the ports are just labeled SSD 1 and SSD 2, so i would assume the connector is interchangable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

Solution
The 960 Pro, being a PCIe NVMe drive, will prevent the other M.2 slot from working.

2 x SATA M.2 drives, or a single M.2 NVMe drive.
You could have 2 x WD Blue drives.
