I've installed a samsung 980 pro 1tb on the first slot of my ASUS prime Z690-P D4 mobo.
And when i look in hwinfo it's telling me that my ssd is only running PCIe 2 instead of 4.
If i'm correct it's the slot that directly goes to the cpu.
I also have a sata ssd installed in the bottom m.2 slot but removing it doesn't fix it.
my cpu is i5-12600KF
os: windows 11
latest 1008 bios
chipset driver version: 10.1.37.5
Screenshots of hwinfo

Solution
Do you have NVME raid set up?
It may be limiting performance of your nvme drives.

In left pane - under PCIE bus - find PCI Express Root port, where NVME drive is listed.
Then click on Samsung NVME PCIE SSD controller.

Turns out my ssd is running pcie4, i just clicked on the host controller and tought that the pcie version there was the version my ssd was using.
It was the PCI Express Root port that you said.
And i don't have raid set up.
I have 1 sata ssd, 1 nvme ssd and hard drive.
But thanks for the help.
