I am not sure I understand the following about m.2 . I purchases 2 WD Black NVME drives and have a few questions.
Per the user manual:
1) These m.2 drives are NVME is that the same as running in SATA mode? So does number 1 above even apply?
2) I'm putting a graphics cards in PCIEX16_1, won't be using slots PCIEX 16_3 . Does PCIEX16_1 and 16_3 share bandwidth, will I slow down my graphics card by doing this? If I leave 16_3 unpopulated there should be no impact correct?
3) What is Sata6G_56 (does that mean both ports 5 and 6? On the boards desription in the manual I can't find anything called Sata6g_56 , page 12 (https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...6575_ROG_MAXIMUS_XII_HERO_WI-FI_UM_V2_WEB.pdf )
Would appreciate any feedback and I'm not sure I fully understand m.2 yet. Thanks in advance.
Per the user manual:
- When M.2_1 is is oeprating in Sata Mode, Sata6g_2 will be disabled
- M.2_2 shares bandwidth with pciex 16_3, m.2_2 run in x4 mode, pciex 16_3 will be disabled. When M.2_2 run x2 mode, PCIEX 16_3 run x1 mode
- M2.3 shares bandwidth with Sata6G_56, when M.2_3 is populated Sata6G_56 will be disabled
