Hello folks!
I am using Lenovo Ideapad 520 I5IKB 80YL00R9IN model with intel i7 7th gen processor, 8 gigs ram. I thought of installing a SSD or NVME or Intel optane Memory. I was very confusing of what to buy among these.
I usually do 4K video editing, uses Aftereffects and some. 3D Softwares. I am not sure that, my laptop supports M.2 NVME SSD slot.
And also I am not sure that it will give full speed as of having dedicated M.2 Slot if i install M.2 NVME SSD using M.2 to SATA converter.
Please suggest me which one to buy to get best writing and reading speeds, rendering speed, booting time etc., whether a SSD or M.2 NVME SSD or Intel Optane Memory.
Thanks in advance:)

Solution
You need to verify100% what type of drive that m.2 port will take. NVMe or SATA.

And there is no converter/adapter for an NVMe drive in a SATA capable port.
Even if there were, it would only run at SATA speed.
