Note: I tried to delete this, as I thought I had posted the original in Graphics Cards, but I have duplicated the thread in Motherboards and can't delete it.

The BIOS only shows one m.2 SSD even though I have 2 identical ones (Samsung 980 PRO 1TB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0) installed (one in each slot). I have researched this and found that (on other motherboards) "You will need one SATA M.2 SSD and one NVMe SSD in order for them both to work in the motherboard."

Is this the case with the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Formula Motherboard?

Cheers,
John.

The board has 3 m.2 slots. 1 is 3.0, and the other 2 are 4.0
While as far as I know it doesn't matter if you put a 4.0 drive in a 3.0 slot, you should try swapping it out for the 4.0 slot.
Thanks. I have the M.2 SSDs in the horizontally opposing slots, but BIOS is only detecting one of them. I don't know where the PCIE 3.0 slot is, even though I have studied the M/B schematic.
