M.2 Socket 3 question

Hi, I have a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-Z170x-Gaming 3) and an EVGA GeoForce GTX 960 graphics card.

I need additional SSD storage and was considering and M.2 x4 unit. Is this a good or bad idea?

An m2 drive is a fine choice, best to use it for your OS/Programs and any SATA connection ones as additional storage.

I've got a Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

and considering MyDigitalSSD BPX (480GB) 500GB Mainstream
