So I skimmed through the specs of my motherboard and noticed that it has an "Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x4)" socket. I was wondering, what storage hardware can actually utilize the 32Gb/s speed.

SSD tech is getting fast. Samsung announced back in January m.2 drives that are about 25% faster than the PCIe 2.0 x4 spec, while not fully using the bandwidth, it's not exactly wasted. If anything, being PCIe 3.0 x4 means it's got a little future-proofing so when devices that can use the full bandwidth come out, you'll be able to take advantage.

I can't help but think we'll need heat spreaders on the first few generations of SSDs that will run at 32Gbps.
