Hi,

I just have a general/stupid question on which I hope someone may be able to help me.

I have a pretty old PC currently and wish to upgrade the SSD. I plan to move everything from my single SSD (250gb) to a newer one (1TB). All of my data (OS and files) are on this single SSD.

I recently took a look at my motherboard at it supports m.2 SSDs. I found one which I like, however, I am not sure if they work together since my board/pc is a grandpa...

Board: "Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K4"

m.2 SSD I'm looking at: "WD Blue SN550 1TB NVME M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 SSD"

Any tips/information on this would be wonderful!

Thanks!!

2 x Ultra M.2 Sockets, support M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s)

So yes - your motherboard supports WD Blue SN550 1TB NVME.

BTW - your pc is less than 4 years old. Not grandpa at all.

Thank you so much for the quick reply!

I read that information on the website prior to making this post, but looking at the manual, the picture they use a M.2 which has 2 cutouts at the connector. The WD Blue one only has 1. I'm assuming this does not matter.

The grandpa was just an exaggeration :D. Need to upgrade parts as its getting slow :p
