M.2 SSD is in BIOS but cant install WIN 8.1 on it

Hello.

I finished my new build a few hours ago but ive been struggling with a M.2 SSD.

I can see it in my BIOS but when i want to install windows on it its not there.

I dont know what to do and its very frustrating. I hope someone can help

Specs are
Cpu is i5 8600k
Mobo is MSI B360 gaming pro carbon
GPU is a 980ti
Memory is 2 sticks of 8gb from gskill 2400mhz
Storage is SATA ssd 850 evo 250gb
And a M.2 970 evo NVMe ssd

I already unplugged my SATA ssd the only SATA device that i have plugged in is my DVD writer. And i need it cause i dont have windows on USB

That sounds like a BIOS problem. Check for updates from your MB vendor. It looks to me like you are doing everything right.

Hey.

I just build my new rig and have a 500gb 970 evo M.2 from samsung.

I want to install my windows on it but cant see it in install screen where u can create partitions etc.
it is visible in the BIOS tho.

I have a windows 8.1 DVD

If u need any other info to help me just ask

possible the dvd don't have NVMe driver, it is the latest?

I borrowed win 10 on a usb from a friend. I managed to install it.
Now hope when all other SATA devices are connected i can still boot

Since when do B360 Chipset motherboards support the use of Windows 8.1?

Motherboard specs list only support for Windows 10 64-bit.

That sounds like the real problem. I forgot this was a Win 8.1 install.
