I have an ASRocks B450 Pro4 motherboard and a Crucial MX500 CT500MX500SSD4 500 GB internal SSD(3D NAND, SATA, M.2 type 2280SS) and the SSD will not appear? I have tried locating it in partition software however it still does not appear. It has an orange light on it when my PC is running which i assume means it is on however I cannot figure out how to make it discoverable. Please help so I can make my OS load that tiny bit faster 😉

Solution
Are you using the M.2_2 slot? The one at the bottom of the board? The top slot closest to the CPU only supports PCIE interface M.2 drives such as NVME drives like the samsung 970 evo. To use a SATA M.2 device on that mobo you have to use the lower slot.
